Reynolds Coliseum Renovation

Historic Reynolds Coliseum on the campus of NC State University opened in 1949 as the largest sports venue in the south. Through the years Reynolds has hosted three presidents, Ice Capades, circuses and many classic sports events. No major renovations had occurred since it was built. BNK was pleased to be the engineers for the first major renovation of Reynolds to include an updated arena for women’s basketball, a state of the art sports museum for NC State, and coaches’ offices and playing facilities for most of the Olympic sports. Engineering work for the $35 million project, included air conditioning the “old barn” as it was called, new LED lighting for the playing court and fire sprinkler and modern day safety systems currently required for arenas. The sports museum is visited daily by campus visitors.
